Early Head Start Program:
Federally funded through the Office of Head Start and supplemented through the state Office of Child Development and Early Learning, this free program is an Early Head Start Child Care Partnership serving infants and toddlers age 0-3. Center-based services are offered at the Ben Franklin Early Learning Center and Ellwood City Early Learning Center in partnership with The Learning Tree Child Care and Preschool, operated by United Community Services of Lawrence County, Inc., an incorporation of LCCAP. The target population includes low-income families who are working or are in training, or receiving intensive case management services to remove barriers to employment or training. Center-based care is offered within 10.5 hours per day, 5 days per week year round. Free childcare is available to families enrolled in this program, between the hours of 7:00am and 5:30pm. Before and after care beyond these hours is available through a fee agreement.
