Lead Hazard Control
Funded by HUD, this program serves low income families across 6 counties within the Commonwealth of PA: Lawrence, Mercer, Clarion, Jefferson, Venango, and Delaware, and the City of Lancaster. The family must have a child living in the home under the age of 6 or spending a minimum of 3 days a week, 2 hours a day in the home. This program is slowly expanding by way of also addressing other housing related health issues such as slips/trips/falls, moisture concerns, indoor air quality, unwanted pests and the maintenance of the home in keeping in safe and clean for the families.
Safe and Healthy Homes Program (SHHP)
Funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Lead and Healthy Homes Initiative Grant, focus areas include thirteen Northwest Counties. NW-LHHP has forged partnership with existing agencies who work in varying sectors including Housing, Early Childhood and Community Services to develop a more comprehensive approach to addressing environmental, health and safety concerns. In addition to receiving quality services, families and professional have access to resources including Education and Awareness events, Healthy Home Safety and Health Supplies, Hazard Remediation, Blood Lead Level Screenings, and Environmental Health Assessments.
