Rides to Work Program

Through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, ACTS is available to transport parents to work for up to 12 months.

Passenger Cost:

  • Passengers ride for free for the first six months of enrollment in this program.
  • Passengers pay $1.00 per trip for the second six months (Months 6-12 of enrollment).
  • If the passenger has a disability or is over the age of 65 years of age, they may be eligible for another sponsoring agency’s trip subsidy after their 12 months of enrollment in this program.

 

Requirements:

  • Passenger must be employed and working at least 20 hours per week.
  • Passenger must have primary, physical custody of a minor, dependent child.
  • Family enrollment maximum in this program is 12 months from date of enrollment or if they reach the maximum spending allowance of $8,000.
  • Passenger must be part of a household whose annual income is less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. For a family of 4, the annual income can be up to approximately $55,500 per year to qualify.
  • You must be in the Service Area of Allied Coordinated Transportation Services, Inc. (Lawrence County, PA and nearby).

Trip Restrictions:

  • Passengers may only ride for employment purposes.
