It’s April 16th, and with that, we celebrate the end of another successful VITA season.
This year we were able to increase the reach of the VITA program and serve more households than ever before! Thank you to our consultants, volunteers, greeters, and coordinated intake department for working so hard over the last 10 weeks.
It is amazing what our volunteers accomplish in so little time. VITA was “open” for 111 hours. In that time, they served 844 households. That is amazing!
PROGRAM OUTCOMES:
- 844 Federal returns accepted (803 were completed during the last program year)
- 790 State returns accepted (764 were completed during the last program year)
- $803,864 in Federal refunds processed ($765,503 in federal refunds were processed last year)
- $40,045 in State Refunds processed ($38,642 in state refunds were processed last year)
- Average Adjusted Gross income of persons using the services: $16,218 (Average AGI last year: $15,838)
- Average Federal refund: $1,256 ($906 average federal refund last year)
All said, the program brought $843,909 back to Lawrence County to families who need it most!
