You will be contacted to schedule an intake at which time you will complete paperwork for your child to be considered for placement. You will receive a letter either stating that your child was accepted into the program or your child was placed on a waiting list. Enrollment in any LCCAP Early Learning Program is not guaranteed, age and income guidelines apply.

Am I able to tour the facility prior to my child starting?

Yes!! We can most certainly schedule a time for you to come by and tour the facility. We also have the option to view the classrooms virtually for those who do not feel comfortable stopping by the facility. You can find those virtual photos and videos by clicking HERE.

Does my child need to be potty trained to attend?

Absolutely not! We will discuss with you what you are currently doing at home and try our best to do the same at school.

I don’t want my child to just play all day. What will they learn?

We use the Creative Curriculum in all of our classrooms. The Creative Curriculum essentially states that children at this age learn best through their play!  When you ask your child what they did at school and they respond by saying, “played,” that’s exactly what we want them to think!  Our teachers work very hard to incorporate an educational component into each part of the day.  For example, a group of children may be playing in the block area.  The teacher will ask the group to construct three buildings, one with three blocks, one with five blocks and one with seven blocks.  Although the children think they are just completing a task for the teacher, they are using fine motor skills to stack the blocks, and also using counting skills to know how many should go in each building. Is there transportation available?

Transportation is available in some programs, however it is not guaranteed. Our busses are equipped with five point harnesses built right into the seat so your child is buckled at all times in route to school.  There are also bus monitors on the bus in order to make sure the kiddos stay buckled.

My child is a very picky eater, can I send food with them?

Outside food is prohibited from entering the building. The main reason for this is allergies that other children in the program may have.  A menu will be sent home each month letting you know what will be served.  Although children are not forced to eat any foods they are highly encouraged to at least try all the food items being offered.  Sometimes even the pickiest of eaters will end up eating foods they commonly wouldn’t touch because their friend is eating it!

Depending on which program your child is enrolled into they could receive breakfast, lunch, and snack.

What days will my child go to school?

Since all classrooms do not operate on the same schedules, specific information about days of the week and times can be discussed at the time of your intake appointment.
