LCCAP’s family meals food distribution was a little different this week. In addition to the regular week’s supply of groceries and infant/toddler supplies, close to 100 families were provided special Valentine gifts, as well as those who were unable attend, to show how much we care!
The theme was “Winter Essentials” to keep our families safe and healthy during these cold winter months. Items included a bag of Ice Melt salt, windshield wiper fluid, a snow scraper with brush, hypoallergenic face lotion, chap sticks, masks, and an umbrella (because we do get winter rain in Western PA!). Children received a flashlight and were provided educations activity sheets to utilize the flashlight for learning and play. Families were also provided an extra special winter essential – an Augustine’s Pizza for a family fun night!
Children were provided hand-made Valentine cards from their teachers, which made the distribution even more heartwarming.
LCCAP misses their early learners and families and hopes to see them in person real soon!
