Regional Veterans Services

With locations in 13 different counties (Armstong, Beaver, Butler, Cameron, Clarion, Crawford, Delaware, Elk, Jefferson, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer and Potter) we are sure to be able to get you in the right place. PA Pre-K Counts

The PA Pre-K Counts program is for children one or two years away from kindergarten and focuses on developing social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills for the child. There is no cost for eligible families at or below 300% of poverty. So for example, a family of 4 could make a gross income of approximately $72,900 per year and still qualify. There is no transportation available and families of children of special needs are encouraged and welcome to apply! Call 724-658-7671 today!

Early Head Start

The Early Head Start Program at Ben Franklin and Ellwood City Early Learning Centers are available for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years at not cost for families who are working or are in training. *An application for child care subsidy is required, resulting in a possible co-pay. Vehicle Purchase and Repair Assistance

Community Needs Assessment

Lawrence County Community Action Partnership’s (LCCAP) purpose in conducting a Community Needs Assessment is to examine both the strengths of the community and its areas for improvement. Through the Community Needs Assessment, LCCAP will be able to develop a clear understanding of Lawrence County and develop proactive plans with community partners to address any areas of concern.
The Community Needs Assessment will examine the basic composition of the County, the key partnerships and collaborations held by LCCAP, and key indicators of the area’s quality of life.

Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)

As a Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) sponsor, Lawrence County Social Services, Inc. (LCSS) was just awarded $7,081to expand our SFSP. The funding was granted by The Specialty Food Foundation. “The Specialty Food Foundation develops and supports tangible and lasting solutions to hunger and food recovery, amplifying the innovation and passion of the specialty food community.”

Healthy Youth PA (HYPA)

The Lawrence County Social Services, Inc. (LCSS) Healthy
Youth program promotes healthy choices among youth ages
9-14, in an effort to reduce teen pregnancy, poverty, dropout
rates and other at-risk behaviors within Lawrence
County through positive, evidence-based programming and
interventions. This will increase developmental assets to
protect these youth from unhealthy choices and will be
accomplished through an integrated program model to
include individualized and small group mentoring and counseling,
