Allied Coordinated Transportation Services, Inc, (ACTS) is pleased to confirm our participation in the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Same Day Trip Pilot Program. Effective Friday, July 1, 2022, ACTS is authorized to provide PennDOT-subsided, same-day trips to passengers who are already enrolled in the Senior Citizen Lottery or Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Programs.
As part of the confirmation process for the Same Day Trip Pilot, ACTS was required to write Management, Communication, and Implementation Plans to ensure that the following requirements were met. The following parameters apply to the provision of trips under this Pilot:
- Same day trips must not reduce the quality of service for passengers who pre-scheduled their trips. PennDOT maintains that pre-scheduling trips, at least one-business day in advance, is the preferred method for scheduling Shared-Ride trips as it allows the most cost-effective, coordinated service to be provided to the public. This pilot is intended to allow flexibility in travel for our passengers, however, the majority of our passengers’ trips must be pre-scheduled.
- The service provided to passengers scheduling same-day trips must not exceed the level of service the passenger would have received should they have pre-scheduled their trip. Due to this requirement, ACTS must only serve the rural, outer-lying areas of the County at the same pre-established times offered to passengers who pre-scheduled.
- Same-day trips will not be provided on Saturdays or to out-of-county destinations.
- Passengers may take up to ten (10) same-day, one-way trips within a calendar month.
- Passengers must contact the ACTS Office between 8:30am through 4:00pm, Mondays through Fridays to request same day trips.
- The earliest scheduled appointment time for same-day trips will not be before 9:00 AM, whereas the latest pickup time will not be later than 5:00 PM.
- ACTS is required to track and analyze KPIs relating to same-day trips, as well as their impact on pre-scheduled trips, to ensure that participation in this pilot does not adversely affect our other passengers.
ACTS is excited to begin this new service to our passengers!
